Sleeve Gastrectomy

Sleeve gastrectomy is the most commonly performed Bariatric Metabolic procedure in Australia. It has been shown to be a safe and effective approach to significant and sustained weight loss.

During the procedure a large portion of the stomach is removed to create a thin tubular ‘sleeve.’ Sleeve gastrectomy is performed laparoscopically (keyhole).

This procedure works by limiting food intake and influencing the hormones involved in appetite and metabolism.
