Dr Matthew Honoré

Dr Matthew Honoré is a specialist Bariatric Metabolic, Upper Gastrointestinal, and General Surgeon with a strong commitment to patient centred care.
Matthew completed his medical degree at the University of Queensland, followed by General Surgical training based at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
After qualifying as a surgeon, he undertook additional years of advanced education and training, predominantly in Bariatric and Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery working at the busiest bariatric centres in Queensland and New South Wales. During this time, he gained invaluable experience working alongside and learning from world leaders in the field.
Matthew has a keen interest in Bariatric Metabolic and Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery including complex and revisional cases. He is passionate about supporting patients through each step of their surgical journey, ensuring comprehensive care at every stage and achieving lasting health outcomes. Matthew is also a GESA-certified endoscopist.
Outside of work, Matthew enjoys spending time with his wife and three boys, playing tennis, and experiencing the outdoors.
