Hernia Repair

Hernia repair surgery is used to treat openings in the abdominal wall that allow the internal organs or tissue to protrude.

There is a wide range of abdominal wall hernias, and the surgical approach depends on a range of factors including hernia type, location, and size.

Repair may be performed with either a laparoscopic (keyhole) or open technique. The aim of the surgery is to reduce the hernia and provide a strong repair to minimise the risk of recurrence and allow a safe return to normal activities.
