One Anastomosis Gastric Bypass (OAGB) is an incredibly effective bariatric metabolic procedure designed to achieve significant weight loss and improvement in obesity related medical conditions.

The operation is performed laparoscopically (keyhole) and involves creating a narrow gastric ‘pouch’ and connecting a loop of small bowel ‘bypassing’ a section of the gastrointestinal tract. This provides restriction of food intake and hormonal changes reducing appetite.

OAGB is also often utilised due to its effectiveness as a revisional procedure.
